Livestock locator application scenario

Split type solar panel, naturally upward during wearing, can absorb as much light as possible, and effectively avoid wearing under the neck easily stained situation.
Microcurrent charging management allows solar panels to generate a certain amount of power without having to clean up, even if they collect dust. Plus, the locator uses the low-power algorithm of the patented technology, with the power reduced by more than 70% compared with the ordinary product. The micro-charge is enough to support the continuous use of the product, so it doesn't need external charging in the whole life cycle. You don't have to clean solar panels as often.
If the solar panel is covered with mud and cannot be used at all, the system will automatically detect it and send a reminder to the livestock manager to inform them to clean it up in time.
NB - IOT + GSM dual mode
Kotonlink livestock locator uses the latest 4G Internet of Things network: NB-IOT.The power consumption is less than half that of traditional GSM, the effective communication distance is twice longer, and the data capacity is increased by 1000 times. Both Mobile and Telecom have started to roll out nB-iot networks in large numbers, which will cover the whole country in 2018.
For more remote mountainous areas, traditional GSM 2G networks can be used even without NB-IOT networks.

Exercise health monitoring
Kotonlink customized an exercise and health monitoring algorithm based on the movement characteristics of cattle, sheep and other livestock, which can monitor the movement distance, exercise intensity, sleep time and so on, and make statistics by time.
The system cloud will monitor the movement characteristics of each animal, analyze the individuals with less time to move, and determine whether the animal's body is likely to get sick.

Location management
Through the mobile APP, livestock managers can see the current location of each animal as well as its distance from them.
You can also set up an electronic fence via the APP to alert the device once the animal has left the fenced area.

Hardware Architecture

MCU
The whole system is designed with a low-power scheme. The MCU uses STM32L series SOC. The power of this chip can be reduced to 0.28uA in standby mode and 185uA/MHz in operating mode, using the CPU of Corcor-M3 32-bit.
2G Module
MCU is equipped with 2G module with GPS. The module adopts remoting module, and the selection mainly refers to function, power consumption, size, positioning accuracy, etc.
BLE module
BLE is directly connected to the mobile phone and can be used for anti-loss or data communication functions.
G-sensor
G-sensor is used to detect the amount of motion of livestock. The three-axis acceleration sensor is selected and the amount of motion is calculated based on the movement characteristics of livestock. ADXL362 series low power consumption triaxial acceleration sensor is selected.
