The red-headed document No. 688 issued by the Public Security Bureau (September 15, 2018), titled "Opinions of the Ministry of Public Security on the Installation and Equipment of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Detection and Countermeasure Equipment," clearly stipulates:
In order to effectively enhance the capability and level of public security organs to prevent and respond to the intrusion of unmanned aerial vehicles on important targets and major events, and to accelerate the installation and equipment of unmanned aerial vehicle detection and countermeasure equipment, achieving regular automatic patrolling of key areas and temporary on-site mobile countermeasures, the public security departments of provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, and the Public Security Bureau of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps are required to equip unmanned aerial vehicle detection and countermeasure equipment in accordance with the requirements of the opinions.
The scope of installation and equipment of unmanned aerial vehicle detection and countermeasure equipment includes:
Core areas of party, government, and military politics, residences of leaders, perimeters of guard points and lines related to foreign affairs activities and other major security tasks, as well as hazardous areas such as nuclear power plants, refineries, oil storage depots, and venues for major events.

The 7th CISM Military World Games
The 7th CISM Military World Games was held in Wuhan, China from October 18th to 27th, 2019. It was the largest, with the most participants and the widest influence in the history of the military games. It was also the largest and highest-level event held in Wuhan in nearly 20 years. General Secretary Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony and announced the opening of the conference; heads of state and dignitaries from several countries also attended the event. The Donghu Lake area undertook security tasks such as torch relay and event hosting. The Donghu Branch of the Wuhan Public Security Bureau was tasked with providing security for the residences of heads of state from various countries and the Donghu Lake area during the event.
